The Exotic Lanzarote Island, Top Island Vacation in Spain

Lanzarote is a Spanish island, located in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 125 km off the coast of Africa and 1,000 km from the Iberian Peninsula. The key to Lanzarote´s popularity as a holiday destination lies in the fact that this island located just seventy miles off the coast of Africa enjoys a great climate all year round. So even in the depths of winter when Northern Europe is shivering, visitors are able to enjoy a beach holiday in the sun here.

Things to do
Lanzarote has many interesting places to visit such as the national park Timanfaya and the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism. For those who like to relax there are many sandy beaches. There are also numerous excusions like quad safaris and boat excursions. The Atlantic Ocean offers the possiblities for watersports like swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and windsurfing.


Lanzarote Beaches

The beaches of Puerto del Carmen
The tourist town of Puerto del Carmen has a 6 km long beach. Most of the beach is very bussy and there are pedalos, sunbeds and sombrellas for rent. Next to the beach there is the boulevard with countless bars, restaurants and shops.


The beaches of Playa Blanca
Most beautiful beaches of the island can be found next to the town of Playa Blanca. The 7 Papagayo beaches lay in a nature reserve and some of them are situated in a beautiful bay. There are 3 main beaches in the town of of Playa Blanca.Flamingo beach is ideal for families and next to the boulevard we find the main town beach and Dorada beach.

The beaches of Costa Teguise
Costa Teguise counts a few beaches. The most popular one is Playa de las Cucharas which is situated next to the towns boulevard. Because of it´s windy conditions this is the favorite place for windsurfing.

The beaches in the North
The north of the island , the area between Jameos del Agua and Orzola offer white sandy beaches and lagoons with emerald green and blue water.
