You see American flags everywhere in our country, but did you know that Hawaii is the fiftieth and last star to be included in the nation's symbol? Being the fiftieth state of America, Hawaii has seemed exotic to us and has been our only Pacific-island territory in modern times. Seeing that we have a nice local destination where the beaches are as magnificent as, if not, superior to those that can be found at the Caribbean, why not plan a Hawaiian trip now? Not only will you be able to enjoy Hawaii's beaches, there are dozens of places there that might interest you. Here are some of them:
o Pearl Harbor has become quite popular in the recent generations because of the movie that depicted our nation's battle with the Japanese in World War II. It is an important historical site, and here you can find the Arizona Memorial, a site that should not be missed so you can pay tribute to the lives of the brave people who fought for our country. The submarine Bowfin is located there, as well.
o The Aloha Tower in Honolulu allows you to see a nice view of the harbor and the city's beautiful skyline.
o Visit the Ala Moana Park to do some shopping and food tripping. Conveniently located between Honolulu and Waikiki, this park is also home to the Kewalo Basin, where you can ride harbor boats that give you a nice view of the area.
o If you're looking for a little action, go to the Mauna Kea or White Mountain found on the big island of Hawaii. Aside from being Hawaii's highest mountain, it is also the tallest in the whole of the Pacific region.
